The Pharmacy Quality Alliance has tapped Rachel Digmann as senior director of measure operations and analytics.

Digmann is responsible for measure testing and maintenance of the PQA measure technical specifications and contributing to the development and endorsement of new measures.

She also will ensure that current measures are updated and maintained to provide technical support to licensees and users of the PQA measures.

In addition, Digmann also is a residency-trained clinical pharmacist with more than 15 years of experience in quality improvement, population health management, analytics, pharmacy administration and pharmacy services. Throughout her career, she has been active in local and national quality improvement efforts.

“Rachel is a passionate advocate for medication safety and systems and process improvement,” said Laura Cranston, PQA's CEO. “She has worked with diverse healthcare organizations throughout her career and has a deep understanding of medication use quality from the perspectives of pharmacies and public and private payers. Her experience will help PQA in our work to bring national medication use leaders together to develop measures and programs that advance patient care and improve quality and outcomes.”

Prior to PQA, Digmann held many clinical and administrative pharmacy positions. Most recently, she was senior clinical pharmacy program manager at Telligen, supporting the Quality Innovation Network-National Coordinating Center and focusing on medication safety and adverse drug event prevention in the Medicare population. She also served as a director of clinical pharmacy at a health insurance company, assistant chief of pharmacy at a Veterans Health Administration hospital, clinical operations manager at a PBM, and clinical pharmacy specialist in primary care at a health maintenance organization.

Digmann received her doctorate of pharmacy from Drake University and completed a specialized residency in primary care at the University of Iowa.
