Publix brings COVID-19 vaccine to additional Florida communities

Publix is bringing the COVID-19 vaccine to additional communities throughout Florida.

The retailer announced that those in the Collier, Flagler, St. Johns and Volusia counties would be able to make their appointments via the online registration system.

Individuals who are age 65 years old and older and currently eligible to obtain doses of the Moderna vaccine, which will begin being distributed on Jan. 14.

“For 90 years, Publix has served its customers and communities in times of need,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said. “Our ability to provide these vaccinations to Florida’s 65-and-older population is a privilege. We are grateful to Governor DeSantis for his willingness to work with us to serve our communities.”

Vaccinations will be provided to eligible individuals by appointment only, while supplies last and no cost to the individual, the company said.

Publix Pharmacy will administer vaccines at locations across Bay, Citrus, Collier, Escambia, Flagler, Hernando, Marion, Okaloosa, St. Johns, Santa Rosa, Volusia and Walton counties.
