Publix makes additional $1M donation to Feeding America food banks

Through its Super Markets Charities, Publix is pledging an additional $1 million donation to Feeding America member food banks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic across the nation.

This new donation, which brings its grand total of contributions to $2 million, will support food pantries and meal programs in the communities surrounding its stores.

“As we continue to see an increase in the number of people facing food insecurity during this pandemic, we are grateful to Publix Super Markets Charities for this additional contribution in support of Feeding America member food banks,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said. “This donation will provide meals and essential supplies to our neighbors and continues to support our ongoing commitment to alleviating hunger in the communities we serve.”

Feeding American member food banks that will have the donation distributed to them include those in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
