Publix offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations in 3 states

5/3/2021

Publix is making getting a COVID-19 vaccine easier than before.

The Lakeland, Fla.-based company joins the growing number of retailers offering walk-in vaccinations.

Beginning May 3, Publix’s pharmacy locations in Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee will accept walk-ins and continue to offer scheduled appointments.

Those opting to walk in without an appointment, who must be age 18 years old and older, will be able to choose from either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Those opting for the Moderna vaccine will be given an appointment for their second dose, the company said.

Currently, appointments for the vaccine are open in the three states listed above and are required in the retailer’s Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia locations.
