Publix Pharmacy offering pediatric COVID-19 boosters
Following the CDC’s recent approval, Publix Pharmacy will administer booster doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals ages 12 years old and older as early as five months after the last dose of their primary vaccine series. Publix Pharmacy also will administer third doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to certain immunocompromised children aged 5 to 11 years old.
Additionally, consistent with the CDC’s most recent guidance, eligible individuals aged 18 years old and older who completed their primary vaccine series with the Pfizer vaccine can receive a booster dose of any COVID-19 vaccine as early as five months after receiving their last primary series dose. This reduction in time between the last primary series dose and booster dose only applies to individuals who completed their primary vaccine series with the Pfizer vaccine.
