Dogs are part of the family, that’s why Albertsons and DogSpot want to make taking them grocery shopping much easier.
The retailer announced that customers at two of its Idaho locations — on Broadway in Boise and Market Street in Meridian — will be able to use the traditional dog house, packed with amenities, while they shop.
"At Albertsons, we are always looking for ways to better serve our customers," John Colgrove, Albertsons' intermountain division president, said. "Having DogSpot houses available at our two Albertsons stores will offer our customers, who are running errands with their pets, a safe and comfortable option for them while they do their shopping."
Each dog house is not only app connected, but also allows customers to reserve a house up to 15 minutes before use. The units are temperature controlled with fresh air ventilation to keep the optimal temperature inside for dogs.
In addition, the houses are equipped with UVC lights that sanitize them automatically after each session and puppy-cams that allow owners to monitor their pup while they shop.
"People who have dogs get it — you don't get a dog to leave them cooped up inside all day. The best part of their day is going out on walks around town, heading to the dog park and spending time with you," DogSpot's co-founder and CEO, Chelsea Brownridge, said. "We're making it possible to say, 'Wanna go for a walk?!' more often and more safely than before."
