Getting groceries from Food Lion is becoming a whole lot easier.
It was announced that the company is expanding its Food Lion To-Go service, which is a grocery pick up service, at multiple locations on Aug. 19.
The Salisbury, N.C.-based retailer will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at each of the newly added locations at 8:45 A.M., and offering shoppers their first pick up for free as an introduction to the service, the company said.
“We are so excited to expand this convenient service to more stores in the Food Lion footprint and enable customers to spend more time on what matters most to them,” Deborah Sabo, the senior vice president of marketing at Food Lion, said. “With the Food Lion To-Go service, our associates become personal shoppers and are able to handpick the freshest produce and best cuts of meat, just as they would for their own family. We look forward to continuing to nourish our neighbors with this new convenient service."
To use the service, shoppers can head to Food Lion’s website and find the closest participating store based on their zip code. After filling their virtual cart, consumers can check out and pick a day and hour window in which they wish to pick up the groceries.
A trained associate will accept their order, prepare it and have it ready by the desired time. To-Go shoppers can they park in designated parking areas and wait for an associate to deliver the products directly to their car, the company said.
A full list of locations offering the service on Aug. 19 can be found on the company’s website.
