H-E-B shoppers can now have beer and wine delivered in less than an hour. The San Antonio-based retailer rolled out delivery through its recently acquired, Austin-based delivery company Favor on June 29 in the greater areas of San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and Houston with free delivery through Labor Day.
“The combination of H-E-B and Favor continues to be a win for Texans,” said Jag Bath, Favor CEO and H-E-B chief digital officer. “Delivering almost anything in under an hour is what Favor is built on, and now with H-E-B, we are excited to add the new category of beer and wine delivery to Favor’s on-demand platform.”
The delivery service will offer the full H-E-B beer and wine selection — which makes it the largest craft beer and wine retailer in Texas — with no order minimum. The selection includes local craft brewers and other offerings curated by H-E-B’s wine and beer team.
“This new service truly delivers the best customer experience – a fast, convenient solution with the best selection at the everyday low price our customers expect,” said Martin Otto, H-E-B COO. “H-E-B and Favor joined forces to support and accelerate our collective growth throughout Texas, and this is only the beginning of what’s to come from our powerful partnership.”
This launch is part of H-E-B’s recent strategic investments in technology and partnerships aimed at strengthening its digital offerings in Texas. The company acquired Favor in February, and it has built out its HEBtoyou Delivery and Curbside offerings to more than 100 locations and is on track to reach 200 stores in 2018.
