Meijer kicks off back-to-college season with shopping celebrations
Meijer is ready to help students get ready for the upcoming school season.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer announced that its Meijer Mania event, which celebrates incoming college students with a night of fun, would be holding 22 events for 19 colleges across the Midwest in September.
The celebration features a DJ, photo booth and interactive contests, and helps shoppers collect their last-minute dorm essentials, the company said.
“Our Meijer Mania events provide students the opportunity to shop for their first living spaces away from home and share a fun-filled bonding experience with classmates,” Cathy Cooper, senior director of promotions and sponsorships at Meijer, said. “We are pleased to partner with so many colleges and universities to help ease the transition of moving into a new living environment for these students.”
Meijer began hosting these events more than 15 years ago, to give students a chance to meet their peers in a different atmosphere and introduce the Meijer brand to those who may not have grown up shopping there, the company said.
