Target’s same-day service hits additional stores

Target is giving a larger range of consumers the ability to order online and pick up their items within an hour.

The retailer announced in a blog post that its Drive Up service, which allows guests to place an order, pull up to their local store and have a team member bring them their order in less than two minutes for free, is expanding its availability.

An additional 1,250 of the retailer's stores across the nation will now offer the service. Locations being added to the launch include:

• Maryland’s Annapolis, Frederick, Hagerstown, Salisbury and Silver Spring regions;


• Virginia's Charlottesville, Fairfax, Falls Church, Harrisonburg, Fredericksburg, Lynchburg, Richmond and Roanoke;


• Texas’ Galveston, Laredo, McAllen, and San Marcos areas;


• Georgia’s Albany and Valdosta regions;


• Florida’s Fort Meyers, Sarasota and Bradenton areas; and


• California’s Redding, Santa Rosa, and Simi Valley.

“This expansion brings us one step closer to offering Drive Up at most Target stores by the end of the year,” Dawn Block, the senior vice president of digital at Target, said. “It continues to be our fastest and top-rated same-day service, and we can’t wait for more guests to experience this added ease and convenience across the country.”
