Wegmans Food Markets recently was honored at the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists’ Summit on Challenges and Solutions in Quality and Safety of Homeopathic Drug Products. The chain took home the AAHP’s Integrative Medicine Award from the Summit, which was held at the end of June in Baltimore, Md.
“On behalf of Wegmans, I am happy to accept AAHP’s Integrative Medicine Award,” said Karen Shadders, vice president of health, wellness, home and entertaining at Wegmans, who attended the reception. “We strive to offer our consumers as much choice as possible when it comes to caring for the health of their families and themselves.”
The award was presented during the AAHP Summit’s opening reception, which also featured a report on the state of the homeopathic retail industry from Scott Emerson, CEO of the Emerson Group, and an update on public policy from Scott Melville, CEO of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association.
“In bringing together homeopathic manufacturers, retailers, experts in the field, and professionals from adjacent associations, AAHP’s Quality & Safety Summit highlighted opportunities and challenges that we can all work through together,” said Mark Land, AAHP president. “I am excited we were able to convene the stakeholders learn from one another.”
