Rite Aid, Alignment Health Plan to offer co-branded Medicare Advantage plan
Alignment Healthcare is joining forces with Rite Aid.
The recently shared that it has signed an agreement to offer a brand new co-branded Medicare Advantage product to residents in six Southern California markets.
Rolling out Jan. 1, 2022, the program plans to reach approximately 3.6 million Medicare-eligible residents, if regulatory approvals are given, the companies said.
“Alignment Healthcare is committed to finding partners who will put our seniors’ needs first, and we’re proud to join forces with Rite Aid, one of the nation’s largest drugstore chains, to allow us to continue delivering on that commitment,” Dawn Maroney, president of markets at Alignment Healthcare said.

Those who choose to enroll in the program will be eligible for Alignment’s Access On-Demand Concierge black card, which can be used as a pre-paid credit card on over-the-counter items at the retailer.
“At Rite Aid, we want to connect patients to the care they need to help them achieve whole health and thrive,” Jim Peters, chief operating officer at Rite Aid said. “Providing easy, convenient access and ultimately lowering health care costs is a key part of our strategy, and we are excited to offer this new option with Alignment Health Plan to our Medicare-eligible customers in Southern California.”
Additional card perks include access to a 24/7 concierge team that will answer health-related questions, schedule medical appointments and arrange transportation, the companies said.
