Schnuck Markets is making it easier for customers to eat healthy foods. The company is celebrating the grand opening of EatWell, A Natural Food Store by Schnucks.

The new store, located at 111 South Providence Road in Columbia, Mo., will open on June 24 at 7 a.m.

In May, the company announced the 42,000-square-foot former Lucky’s store will focus on consumers prioritizing health and wellness, natural foods and the occasional splurge. The store has undergone an extensive remodel ahead of opening as EatWell. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned to commemorate the launch of Schnucks new store format.

“I’m excited for our customers to discover all that we have in store for them at EatWell, including organic produce, a natural living section, freshly-squeezed juices, as well as clean-label indulgences,” said Schnucks chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck. “EatWell will also have unique features such as full-service sushi and ramen bars open for lunch and dinner.”

The store also will feature grass fed beef, sustainable seafood and deli meats fresh-roasted in the store. To add to the experience while they shop in the store, customers can enjoy a local draft beer, root beer, kombucha, a glass of wine or a variety of beverages whipped up by the on-site barista.

EatWell will employ approximately 80 teammates. Store hours will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Customers who visit the store will be reminded of the importance of social distancing and encouraged to wear face coverings. Schnucks is temporarily reserving the first hour of each Wednesday from 7 a.m. to- 8 a.m. for shopping by senior customers and those who are most at risk of COVID-19 due to underlying health conditions.

EatWell will be the second Schnucks-owned store in Columbia. The Schnucks store at 1400 Forum Boulevard will continue to provide traditional supermarket offerings, as well as Schnucks exclusive signature items.
