SAN ANTONIO — The Food Marketing Institute Friday night honored three grand-prize winners and three honorable mentions at its inaugural Gold Plate Award presentation at the Health and Wellness @Retail 2013 conference in San Antonio. The winners were Redner’s Warehouse Markets, Price Chopper Supermarkets and Affiliated Foods Midwest. Safeway, Hannaford Bros. and BD&K Foods were recognized with honorable mentions.
In addition, Top Chef All Star Favio Viviani put on some Italian cooking theater Friday night for the GMDC/FMI Dinner and Entertainment. Fabio showcased some of the food flair he has on his show “Chow Ciao!,” a leading lifestyle and food show online. His latest book “Fabio’s Italian Kitchen was released in April.
