S.Pellegrino adds caffeine twist to sparkling water

S.Pellegrino is adding a slight caffeinated twist to its sparkling natural mineral water.

The Essenza line of beverages from the brand is adding a collection of drinks that have been gently caffeinated.

Featuring no calories or sweeteners, the beverages contain 30 mg of caffeine, the equivalent of one-third of the amount in a cup of coffee, Arlington, Va.-based company said.

Available flavors in the line include exotic vanilla and coffee, delicious cocoa and coffee, and smooth caramel and coffee.

“Building on the popularity of our S.Pellegrino Essenza, featuring fresh Mediterranean fruit flavors, we turned to Italian coffee bars as inspiration for this new line,” Sara Mayer, senior marketing manager for S.Pellegrino said. “With sophisticated and indulgent hints of vanilla, cocoa and caramel, and a gentle dose of caffeine, this new offering is the perfect accompaniment to perk up your daily breaks and snack times.”

Shoppers will be able to find S.Pellegrino’s Essenza coffee beverages at retailers nationwide this spring in a pack of eight that retails for $5.99.
