Strides Pharma obtains FDA OK for generic Deltasone

The Food and Drug Administration has given the green light for Strides Pharma’s prednisone tablets in a dosage strength of 2.5 mg and 5 mg.

The product is the generic of Pharmacia and Upjohn’s Deltasone tablets and is indicated to treat certain severe allergies and such conditions as arthritis, blood disorders, breathing problems, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders.

Prednisone tablets had a market value of approximately $30 million, according to IQVIA September 2020 data.

The product will be manufactured at the company’s flagship facility at Bengaluru.
