Target is looking to thank its team members for their work during the busiest shopping season of the year.

The retailer recently shared that aside from increasing the number of hours employees are able to work during the holiday season, they also will be awarded with an extra $2 per hour for each hour worked during peak moments.

Those who qualify for the pay hike include hourly team members in-store, service center and supply chain positions.

"This team continues to be at the heart of our strategy. You have shown up consistently for our guests and one another with a tremendous amount of care and we know this busy holiday season will be no different,” chief human resources officer Melissa Kremer said. “This is just one more way of expressing our deep gratitude for your significant contributions. Thank you for the many ways you bring joy to all families and for all you do to make Target a place where we can care, grow and win together."

For hourly store, select headquarter and service team members, every Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 20 to Dec. 19, as well as Dec. 24 and Dec. 26, will qualify as days in which the pay hike will take place.

Hourly supply chain team members will be able to obtain the pay raise for a two-week period, which varies based on building, from Oct. 10 to Dec. 18.
