Target plans enhanced guest services for holiday season

10/24/2019

Target is getting a jump on the encroaching holiday season in more than one way.

One of the many ways the Minneapolis-based retailer is looking to improve shoppers’ experience in-stores includes adding more team members to assist during peak hours, as well as expanding to its fulfillment and same-day services teams.

"Last year was our most successful holiday in more than a decade, and that momentum has continued with industry-leading results throughout 2019. Our strategy is paying off, and heading into the holidays, our investments and unmatched focus on service will make it easier for guests to shop on their terms, save and experience the joy of the season," Target CEO Brian Cornell said. "This season, we're making our biggest investment in holiday payroll to ensure our team members will be ready to assist our guests when they are shopping most. Coupled with the tremendous response we're seeing to Target Circle, our suite of same-day delivery services and compelling assortment, I'm confident Target will be America's favorite place to shop this holiday and beyond."

In addition to the addition of new team members, those who enrolled in the retailer’s Target Circle program can expect early access to Black Friday doorbusters, deals for kids from Nov. 1 to 27, and special deals throughout the season on must-haves, apparel, televisions, and more, the company said.

Other incentives for the holiday season ahead include an expansion of Drive Up, delivery with Shipt, order pickup, free shipping and a curated assortment of only-at-Target brands, as well as partnerships with national brands.
