Taro Pharmaceutical is offering two new over-the-counter products for children.

The company is expanding its FeverAll children’s fever brand with a new liquid oral acetaminophen suspension format. FeverAll Children’s Liquid Oral Acetaminophen, available in cherry and grape flavors, compliments the brand’s current offerings, which include three dosing levels of the doctor-recommended FeverAll Acetaminophen Suppositories.

The new liquid, which comes with a dosing cup, offers parents an additional option for the temporary relief of children’s pain and fever in children aged 2 to 11 years old, while the 80 mg suppository can be utilized in children as young as age 6 months old, the company said.

“Our extension of the FeverAll product line is a direct result of the consumer’s increasing demand for additional FeverAll products and the need to provide parents with the confidence that this option will be at the ready on shelves during the cold/flu season,” said Nivaran Kapur, head of OTC business for Taro.

Kapur continued, “Through strategic digital-first marketing and audience segmentation, we have grown our suppository business significantly over the past five years, focusing on targeting parents of children under 3 with the well-distributed 80 mg suppository SKU. These children have grown up, however, so these same loyal customers are looking for additional FeverAll options for their older children up to age 11, and new FeverAll Children’s Liquid Oral Acetaminophen answers this demand.”

FeverAll Liquid Oral Acetaminophen, retailing for $8.99 per 4-fl.-oz. bottle, will launch on Amazon and will expand to other retailers in time for the cold and flu season.

Taro also is introducing bébé Bottoms Diaper Rash Crème Spray. The company said the product allows for the easy, one-handed application of a gentle spray formula that is touch-free with no rubbing needed. The light spray, which is formulated with 10% zinc oxide, organic chamomile and calendula, effortlessly covers the affected area, creating a protective barrier that helps soothe baby’s diaper rash while allowing skin to breathe and heal. It’s gentle enough to use at each diaper change to help prevent future irritation.

“This is the second brand for children in the Taro branded OTC portfolio, which also includes FeverAll, a doctor-recommended acetaminophen suppository product for fever and pain in children as young as 6 months of age,” said Kapur. “We look to bring forth novel delivery formats and formulas, which is why we are excited about bébé Bottoms’ patented TLC, Thin Layer Care, spray technology, so parents can easily and effectively protect their baby’s delicate skin from diaper rash without the need for a messy traditional cream.”

Though gentle, new bébé Bottoms is made with 10% zinc oxide, which is clinically proven to have the same powerful efficacy as 25% zinc oxide. The reduced zinc oxide concentration means it can have a thinner consistency that sprays easily and absorbs quickly. In addition, bébé Bottoms is formulated with organic chamomile and calendula, which combine to help soothe and moisturize the skin to support the skin's natural self-healing ability, the company said.

The bébé Bottoms formulation has undergone multiple dermatological tests to ensure safety and effectiveness. It is free of harsh chemicals, parabens, dyes, and fragrances, making it suitable for delicate, irritated skin, the company said.

“It acts like a light lotion to hydrate the skin and helps repair the skin for up to 24 hours with each application. When using it at every diaper change, the crème keeps moisture away from irritated skin so it can heal and prevent further irritation, while the convenient spray technology means you do not need to rub the product in, which can further irritate already painful skin,” Kapurs said.

New bébé Bottoms Diaper Rash Crème Spray is available to purchase on Amazon and will expand to other major retailers in the coming months.
