Teva launches generic Jadenu tablets

Teva Pharmaceuticals is introducing its generic Jadenu (deferasirox) tablets. The generic of Novartis’ branded product will be available in dosage strengths of 90- and 360-mg. 

The drug is an iron chelator indicated to treat chronic iron overload due to blood transfusions in patients 2 years old and older. Teva’s generic comes with a boxed warning for renal failure, hepatic failure and gastrointestinal hemorrhage. 

The product is available in 30-count bottles in both dosage strengths.
