Walmart makes several leadership changes
Walmart is making leadership changes.
A spokesperson for the retailer provided Drug Store News with an internal memo recently posted by:
- John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S.;
- Chris Nicholas, president and CEO of Sam's Club U.S.; and
- Kath McLay, president and CEO of Walmart International.
The memo, which detailed the changes that take effect on Feb. 1, stated "As we prepare for FY26, we are making the following leadership changes to invest in the growth and development of our people and accelerate our business performance."
Canada:
After 25 years of dedicated service, Gonzalo Gebara, CEO, has informed intention to leave Walmart to return to Argentina. Gonzalo began his career in Walmart Argentina but worked in various markets including the U.S, before leading businesses in Argentina, Chile and Canada.

Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager, Walmart+ will move to Walmart Canada as CEO and will relocate, pending immigration. Venessa has diversified retail experience from ALDI in Australia and Woolworths. She joined Walmart in 2016.
Steve Schrobilgen, senior vice president, Walmart U.S. West Business Unit, will move to a new role reporting to Vanessa, as senior vice president and COO-End to End, Walmart Canada. This will include operations, supply chain and real estate. He will also relocate, pending immigration.

International:
Chad Donath, senior vice president, club operations at Sam's Club, will move to senior vice president, operations for Walmart International.
Sam's Club U.S.:
Tom Ward, executive vice president and chief eCommerce officer for Walmart U.S., will move to a new role as executive vice president and chief operating officer, End to End, which will bring together the execution of all parts of our omni experience, including clubs, supply chain and eCommerce.
Julie Barber will move from her current role as executive vice president, general merchandise for Walmart U.S. to the role of executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.
In line with the new strategy, the company also is establishing the role of chief experience officer. Diana Marshall will take on this position with responsibility for creating connected experiences across Sam's Club U.S. She will lead the membership, product, design, marketing and advertising businesses.
Walmart U.S.:
Lance de laRosa, executive vice president and COO for Sam's Club U.S., will move to executive vice president, new initiatives, omni fulfillment.
Dave Guggina, executive vice president, supply chain for Walmart U.S. will move to executive vice president and chief eCommerce officer, backfilling Tom Ward.
Rob Montgomery, senior vice president, supply chain, business operations & planning for Walmart U.S., is being promoted to executive vice president, supply chain, backfilling Dave Guggina.
Megan Crozier, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Sam's Club U.S. will move to executive vice president, general merchandise.
