Web app for biosimilars education debuts

The app provides resources for engaging patients when switching to a biosimilar and understanding managed care requirements.

Providers and patients who want to understand biosimilars can now navigate through a new web app, that was created by Prime, and delivered in partnership with the AMCP Foundation and Biosimilars Council. 

In addition to essential information on the expanding landscape of biosimilars, the BioSim.Care app provides resources for engaging patients when switching to a biosimilar and understanding managed care requirements to ensure that patients have appropriate and prompt access to necessary care.

When used in conjunction with the companion tool for patients, this app provides a foundation for fostering common understanding of:

  • The biosimilar manufacturing and approval process;
  • The available biosimilars for each condition;
  • Evidence for approved biosimilars;
  • Approaches to engage with patients about biosimilars; and
  • Strategies for navigating insurance requirements.
