Zydus launches generic Trokendi
Zydus is unleashing topiramate extended-release capsules in dosage strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.
The medication is the generic of Supernus' Trokendi XR.
Zydus is the first company to receive final approval and launch this product in the United States.

Topiramate extended-release capsules are indicated for epilepsy: initial monotherapy in patients 6 years of age and older with partial-onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures; adjunctive therapy in patients aged 6 years old and older with partial onset, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures or seizures associated with Lenox-Gastaut Syndrome; and for prophylaxis of migraine in patients aged 12 years old and older.
Topiramate extended-release capsules have a market value of $488 million, according to November 2022 data.
