EWG guide spotlights Tom’s of Maine’s baby sunscreen

KENNEBUNK, Maine — The nonprofit Environmental Working Group has spotlighted natural products company Tom’s of Maine’s natural baby sunscreen in its 2017 Guide to Sunscreen, which reviews more than 1,500 products. The baby sunscreen was among the best-rated options for use on babies and children, the company announced Friday.

"Having a baby really inspires many new parents to take their healthy lifestyle to a new level," Tom’s of Maine brand manager Liz Eddy said. "Parents can be overwhelmed with the options for baby skin care, which makes it so important to know what's inside. In some cases, our baby products have far fewer ingredients than many other brands."

Tom's of Maine’s baby sunscreen contains five ingredients, including zinc oxide, which delivers broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection. It also is non-nano and is water-resistant u to 80 minutes, the company said. The sunscreen is also non-nano and water resistant up to 80 minutes.
