L’Oréal launches La Roche-Posay My Skin Track UV
L’Oréal is continuing its commitment to skin and sun safety research by launching the new La Roche-Posay My Skin Track UV.
The product is a battery-free wearable electronic that measures UV sun exposure, the company said.
"Our research has long indicated the need for better consumer understanding of personal UV exposure," Guive Balooch, global vice president and head of L'Oréal's Technology Incubator, said. "We created this battery-free sensor to seamlessly integrate into the lives and daily routines of those using it. We hope the launch of this problem-solving technology makes it easier for people to make smart, sun-safe choices."
Both UVA and UVB rays are measured in the device, which has its battery-free sensor activated by the sun and can be powered by the user’s smartphone. Users also can find a companion app that tracks exposure to pollution, pollen and humidity.
The La Roche-Posay My Skin Track UV was co-developed with L’Oréal’s La Roche-Posay brand, which works with dermatologists to develop safe and effective skin care products for consumers.
"La Roche-Posay believes that better-looking skin starts with healthy habits. That's why we are committed to bringing scientific progress directly to consumers so that they can make well-informed decisions that will help them take exceptional care of their skin," Laetitia Toupet, global general manager at La Roche-Posay, said. "The research that went into the development of this technology indicated that wearables have the power to inspire true behavioral change by helping people measure and understand their exposure to various environmental aggressors and take action."
My Skin Track UV is available for purchase at select Apple stores and online in the United States for $59.99. Further information can be found on La Roche-Posay’s website.
