Beauty that benefits a great cause is a driving force behind One Ocean Beauty.
The brand, which was founded by industry veteran Marcella Cacci, fuses nature and science together to create an array of skin care products that also benefit the oceans through a partnership with Oceana.
After completing a series of minority investments from Berkshire Hathaway’s Lubrizol, the company has made such products as serums, cleansers, moisturizers, eye creams and supplements systems available via its website.
“The partnership with Lubrizol is a significant step in developing our unique product offering and remaining on the cutting edge of technology — the team at Lubrizol shares our vision for clean beauty and conscious consumerism,” Marcella Cacci, founder and CEO of One Ocean Beauty, said. “We are excited to launch a new business model that is in tune with changing customer behaviors.”
To formulate these products, the company has partnered with innovative blue biotechnology laboratories in Europe to develop clean and sustainably produced products.
The entire collection contains sustainable packaging, marine microorganisms and single cells with antiaging properties, that have been sourced from marine environments. All products are free from GMOs, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, PEGs, nanoparticles, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances, the company said.
In addition, the company also has pledged a sustainable sum to Oceana, which focuses on international ocean conservation and advocacy.
“Marcella and One Ocean Beauty's support of Oceana is visionary and remarkable. They are making a commitment to Oceana based on their values and a desire to make real change happen for our oceans,” Matt Littlejohn, senior vice president of marketing and communications at Oceana, said. “Their commitment is long-term, not tied to the percentage of sales model, but built into the operating structure of their company. This represents a new corporate model of funding nonprofits. They are true ocean heroes.”
One Ocean Beauty’s products are now available for purchase on the company’s website.
