Feeding and soothing skin is the idea behind SheaMoisture’s latest launch.
The brand is introducing consumers to its Matcha Green Tea and Probiotics line, which looks to help stop redness on the skin at the source and soothes it when present.
Together matcha green tea and the featured probiotics, balance and protect skin, while also improving the appearance of uneven texture and defending against the causes of inflammation and irritation, the company said.
“According to a 2018 survey, commissioned by Sundial, of 120 women ages 18-34, 44% listed redness as one of their top three skincare concerns,” Christine Keihm, SVP of Marketing at Sundial Brands, the manufacturer of SheaMoisture, said. “SheaMoisture is addressing an unmet consumer need for clean skincare products that combat irritation, redness and blotchiness with the launch of the Matcha Green Tea & Probiotics collection.”
Matcha green tea possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and helps brighten, energize and awaken dull and tired skin. Probiotics contain bacterial cells that can be positively affected by the good bacteria, and therefore help improve skin’s natural balance, the company said.
The entire collection’s products include:
- The Transforming Clay-to-Cream Cleanser, which is first applied to dry skin and is converted to a cream when water is added. It leaves skin balanced and retails for $10.99;
- The Soothing Toner and Hydrating Mist, which purifies, smooths and hydrates skin without stripping it of its natural oils, and retails for $10.99; and
- The Soothing Eye Cream, which cools, depuffs, and brightens the under eye area, and retails for $11.99.
As with other products from the brand, the collection does not contain mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol or sulfates, and is not tested on animals.
