Ben & Jerry’s dials up flavor with Topped line
Ben & Jerry’s has got a new line of sweet treats that are topped with a layer of chocolate ganache.
Appropriately titled the Topped collection, consumers can choose from such flavors as fruit, peanut butter, caramel or mint.
“We wanted to dial up the indulgence level with this unique line of flavors, which entirely challenges how you eat this ice cream,” Dena Wimette, Ben & Jerry’s innovation guru said. “We started with sundaes and all the things you add to sundaes to make them great as our inspiration. You could say we ended up going over the Topped.”
Flavors in the line include:
- Whiskey Biz, which features brown butter ice bourbon ice cream, blonde brownies and whiskey caramel swirls topped with a white chocolate ganache and white fudge chunks;
- Chocolate Caramel Cookie Dough, which contains chocolate ice cream, caramel swirls, gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough, and a topping of caramel cups and chocolate ganache;
- PB Over the Top, which is a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirls, and peanut butter cups that have been topped with mini peanut butter cups and chocolate ganache;
- Salted Caramel Brownie, which features vanilla ice cream, salted caramel swirls and fudge brownies topped with caramel cups and chocolate ganache;
- Strawberry Topped Tart, which features sweet ice cream, strawberry swirls and pie crust pieces that are topped with white chocolate ganache and candy sprinkles;
- Thick Mint, which is a mint ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls, and mint chocolate cookie balls that have been topped with chocolate cookies and chocolate ganache; and
- Tiramisu, which features mascarpone ice cream, fudge swirls and shortbread pieces that are topped with espresso fudge chunks and chocolate ganache.
Consumers can find Ben & Jerry’s Topped ice cream collection at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price that ranges from $4.99 to $5.49.
