Dollar Tree's net sales for the quarter increased .7% to $5 billion, while same-store net sales increased 2%, driven by a .7% increase in traffic and a 1.3% increase in average ticket.
Kroger has filed its answer and counterclaims to the complaint brought by Albertsons in the Delaware Court of Chancery, in connection with the previous merger agreement between the two companies, which was terminated in December 2024.
In the lawsuit, C&S claims Kroger didn't pay the $125 million termination fee in the event the merger deal with Albertsons was cancelled, per a WSJ report.
In the first quarter of this fiscal year, the company is closing 46 stores and 45 pOpshelf stores and converting an additional six pOpshelf stores to Dollar General stores.
