    NEW YORK — Shoppers today are more knowledgeable than ever when it comes to finding deals on their favorite products, and many won't even set foot in a store until they have an idea of their potential savings, according to the Deloitte/Harrison Group annual American Pantry Survey.

  • Blue Moon Grand Cru returns for the holidays

    DENVER — Blue Moon's limited-edition beer is returning to stores this holiday season.

    Blue Moon Grand Cru will be available in stores nationally from November through December. The beverage, which first made its debut in 2009, full-bodied beer that features rich, creamy notes with subtle hints of orange peel and coriander. The company said its a "robust interpretation" of Blue Moon Belgian White Belgian-style wheat ale.

    Blue Moon Grand Cru will be available in a 750-ml bottle.

  • Perrigo gains approval for new store-brand infant formula offering

    ALLEGAN, Mich. — Perrigo on Tuesday announced it received Food and Drug Administration clearance to market and distribute infant formula that contains 100% partially hydrolyzed whey protein. The store-brand Comfort Care infant formula is designed for babies with fussiness or gas and will be sold as a nutritionally comparable version of Gerber Good Start gentle infant formula at leading retailers in 2012.

    Sales of the national brand are estimated to be $55 million for the latest 52-weeks, as measured by SymphonyIRI Group.

  • New line of juice blends touts 60 calories, three vegetables per serving

    MIDDLETOWN, N.J. — FaVe Juice has launched a line of beverages that provides three servings of vegetables in each 8-oz. glass.

    The company said its FaVe 60-calorie, 100% juice blends will be available in strawberry banana kiwi, blueberry pomegranate goji, and orange tangerine pineapple flavors.

    FaVe's new line will hit store shelves in early 2012.

  • Dream Water expands distribution to CVS/pharmacy

    MIAMI — Dream Water once again has expanded its retail distribution through a nationwide retail alliance with CVS/pharmacy.

    With this move, Dream Water now is available in more than 20,000 points of sale nationwide. The product also is available in such stores as Duane Reade, Kmart, Harmon, Walmart and Walgreens.

  • Starbucks buys juice company, plans to roll out new concept

    SEATTLE — Starbucks announced Thursday plans to reinvent the $1.6 billion premium juice market with its all-cash purchase of San Bernardino, Calif.-based Evolution Fresh for $30 million.

    The acquisition, which is part of a strategy to move beyond coffee into the health-and-wellness segment, gives Starbucks a path to open new health-and-wellness stores in the coming year, it said, although Starbucks has not yet revealed many stores it will open, their location or the name.

  • Krispy Kreme brings chocolate-flavored treats to retail

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Krispy Kreme has brought two new sweet treats to retail.

    Krispy Kreme said its new glazed chocolate pie and chocolate dipped cake doughnuts join the brand's current lineup of doughnuts, honeybuns, mini-crullers, fruit pies and other snack-sized treats that are sold nationwide.
