  • Henkel doubling production of Purex Complete crystals softener to meet consumer demand

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Consumer demand has prompted Henkel to double production for one of its Purex products.

    The company, which introduced the Purex Complete Crystals softener earlier this year, said that its plants have operated at full capacity since the launch of the in-wash fabric softener to keep up with the unprecedented demand.

    To mitigate the number of product shortages until August, Henkel announced that it would suspend production of Purex Complete Crystals softener's Tropical Splash variety, which is 1-of-3 scents the brand produces.

  • Lemonade beverages join Trop50's lineup

    CHICAGO — Tropicana is giving its Trop50 brand a refreshing boost.

    Just in time for summer, Trop50 has debuted lemonade and raspberry lemonade beverages. Each variety contains no artificial sweeteners and 50% less sugar and calories.

    To celebrate the launch, Trop50 lemonade and raspberry lemonade will be supported in the brand's "Girlfriends" advertising campaign, which launched last September and features actress Jane Krakowski.

    Trop50's lineup also includes original Trop50 orange juice and farmstand apple juice.

    FRIENDSHIP, N.Y. — Friendship is updating its look and taking it to supermarket aisles.

    The brand, which is part of Dean Foods, said it has adorned its family of products with new colorful packages. What's more, Friendship's iconic dove is much more prominent on the package, giving the brand an unmistakable presence on shelf, Friendship said.

    Friendship is a maker of all-natural dairy products, including cottage cheese, sour cream, farmer cheese and buttermilk.

    OAKLAND, Calif. — In an effort to provide consumers with on-the-go access to product ingredient information, Clorox is slated to debut a new mobile app and website.

    Plans for the mobile app and website were previewed at the Sustainable Fragrances conference in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, where the company further emphasized its commitment to product ingredient transparency via its Ingredients Inside program.

  • Crio Brü seeks to deliver brewed cocoa drink

    OREM, Utah — A new brewed drink is looking to provide an alternative to coffee.

    Crio Brü, which contains 100% pure, premium cocoa beans, brews just like coffee, according to the company. Currently sold in coffee shops and coffee aisles at retail in Utah, as well as online, Crio Brü is available in Cavalla, Vega Real and Coca River flavors.

    CHICAGO — A new line of relaxation beverages that pays homage to Bob Marley has made its debut.

    Marley's Mellow Mood, which was created in partnership with the family of late singer Bob Marley, is a line of 100% natural teas and lightly carbonated sodas. The sodas are packaged in 12-oz. Rexam Sleek cans, while the teas are bottled in a ready-to-drink format. Both are formulated with an exotic blend of chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, melatonin, rose hips and lemon balm, the Marley Beverage Co. said.

    Through Beech-Nut's "A Jar for a Jar" program, in which consumers can share virtual jars of baby food through Beech-Nut's Facebook page, the company will match every virtual jar shared, up to 1 million jars, in a donation to hunger relief agency Feed the Children.
