  • Duncan Hines introduces Frosting Creations

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Duncan Hines is looking to stir up dessert possibilities by unveiling a new proprietary frosting system.

    Frosting Creations are created by pouring one of 12 flavor combination mixes — including cinnamon roll, cotton candy, chocolate mint, strawberry shortcake, chocolate almond, bubble gum, orange crème, mocha, chocolate marshmallow, white chocolate raspberry, cherry vanilla and caramel flavors — into a specially formulated frosting starter.

  • Mom Made Foods brings lineup to Duane Reade

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Mom Made Foods, a maker of frozen prepared meals, snacks and meal starters for kids, is extending its reach to the Big Apple.

    The company, a U.S. Department of Agriculture-organic certified producer of frozen foods for children, announced that its three product lines — Mom Made Meals, Mom Made Munchies and Mom Made Bites — will make their way to Duane Reade. The products currently are available at a variety of grocery retailers, including A&P, Hannaford, Shaw's and Waldbaums.

  • Mor boosts enhanced sparkling water line with new flavor, packaging

    CHICAGO — Mor has expanded its lineup of sparkling enhanced water with a new flavor.

    The company said its peach passionfruit flavor contains five calories per can and is infused with all natural fruit flavors, enhanced with a smart blend of herbs, electrolytes and vitamins, and doesn't contain sugar, sodium or caffeine.

    In related news, Mor recently tapped consumer packaging company Rexam to launch a redesigned package for Mor beverages, which now are available in 12-oz. Rexam Sleek cans.

  • ConAgra introduces Ultragrain flour line

    OMAHA, Neb. — ConAgra Mills has introduced a new line of all-natural white whole wheat flour.

    Ultragrain is naturally milder and sweeter in flavor, and delivers a softer, smoother texture and speck-free appearance, the company said. The line is available in two varieties: all-purpose flour — which touts 30% Ultragrain whole wheat flour, giving it 9 g of whole grain per serving — and white whole wheat flour, which has 100% whole grain nutrition with the taste, texture and appearance of refined flour and offers 30 g of whole grain per serving.

  • Safeway commits to responsibly sourced paper products

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — In effort to further its commitment to sustainability, Safeway's private-label Softly bath and facial tissue and Ultra Thirsty paper towels now are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the Rainforest Alliance.

    Safeway's paper products earned the FSC seal by being produced from fiber sourced from suppliers who have been independently certified to follow the strictest standards in sustainable, ethical forestry management and production chain controls.

  • MillerCoors' 64-calorie beer gets name change

    CHICAGO — MillerCoors has rebranded its low-calorie beer.

    MGD64 now will be called Miller64, but will continue to tout 64 calories and 2.4 g of carbohydrates per 12 oz. The change, which will roll out nationwide this spring, is being supported by a marketing campaign that will include new television, radio, digital and out-of-home advertising.
