WOONSOCKET, R.I. — With Hurrican Harvey bearing down on the Texas coast, CVS Pharmacy is encouraging patients to prepare for the storm by taking care of their prescription needs before it makes landfall.

WASHINGTON — CVS Health, Walgreens and Walmart each received a perfect score of 100% on the 2017 Disability Equality Index, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to disability inclusion and workplace equality, administered by the U.S. Business Leadership Network and American Association of People with Disabilities.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health company Accordant has received NCQA Patient and Practitioner Oriented Disease Management Accreditation, the company announced Wednesday. The disease management accreditation was given for a number of Accordant’s  programs providing services to patients with rare chronic disease and other conditions on behalf of health plans, government-sponsored plans, labor groups, employers and third-party administrators, and covers 18 conditions, including epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, HIV, Crohn’s disease and others.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — URAC has reaccredited CVS Pharmacy in Community Pharmacy, the company announced Thursday. The accreditation is the result of the CVS Pharmacy demonstrating a commitment to quality care, improved processes and better patient outcomes, and encompasses all CVS Pharmacy, Longs Drugs and Navarro Discount Pharmacy locations.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. —  CVS Pharmacy will be acquiring 20 Fagen Pharmacy locations in northwest Indiana and northeast Illinois, the company announced Wednesday. Eight of the locations will be converted to CVS Pharmacy stores and 12 will be closed, with their files being transferred to nearby CVS Pharmacy locations.

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. and WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health and Cigna on Thursday announced a new collaboration aimed at revamping the experience of patients on Cigna employer-sponsored health plans. Cigna Health Works will align Cigna-administered health benefits with CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic services to create a personalized health-and-wellness program for Cigna-covered patients in select markets, the companies said.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — In an effort to differentiate itself, CVS Health is looking to tap into the 24.8% of the workplace the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects will be aged 55 years and older by 2024. The company — which currently has a workforce that is 24% older than 50 years of age — has announced that it’s actively recruiting older employees.
