Those on the lookout for a new summer beverage now have a new offering to consider.
Del Mar Wine Seltzer is entering the category by launching its own line of wine-based hard seltzers that contains a 4% ABV and no added sugars, and is made from California grapes in Napa Valley.
Available in black cherry, grapefruit, white peach and watermelon flavors, the beverages are made with simple ingredients and natural flavors, and have just 95 calories per can, the St. Helena, Calif.-based company said.
“As a family-owned Napa Valley winery with a legacy of giving consumers what they want, we made the decision to enter the space with a light, refreshing and sophisticated wine-based seltzer to challenge malt-based seltzers within the category,” Dave Derby, senior vice president of marketing for Trinchero Family Estates, said. “We are confident that consumers will appreciate our decision to leverage our 72 years of winemaking experience to create a grape-based seltzer made from transparent ingredients that they know and love.”
Each of Del Mar Wine Seltzer’s wine-based beverages come in 355 ml cans that are sold in packs of four and retail for $8.99.
