Dove’s Scalp + Hair Therapy line nourishes, transforms tresses
Dove's Scalp + Hair Therapy collection is formulated to treat the source of growing hair—the scalp, the brand said.
Developed with dermatologists, the line is a preventative range formulated to nourish, strengthen and transform hair from root to top.
“For the Dove Scalp + Hair Therapy collection, our R&D team dedicated time to scientific development, while drawing upon decades of Dove research, to create a unique approach to scalp care that delivers clinically proven results,” said Beth Labrecque, principal scientist for Dove. “Most people used to overlook the scalp, not knowing that 99% of hair's natural nourishment and strength comes from the scalp. Knowing that the hair bulb (papilla) is the living root of the hair follicle, we created formulas proven to enhance scalp health, thus promoting a nourished environment for hair follicles to thrive. For example, the Fullness Restore Density Boost Scalp Serum uses a blend of niacinamide (vitamin B3) to strengthen and moisturize the scalp barrier, peptides and zinc to nourish the follicle and fortify the roots, and glycerin to hydrate and help encourage a healthy scalp environment.”

The Scalp + Hair Therapy line’s six products include:
- Fullness Restore Scalp Serum: Made with niacinamide, glycerin, peptide and zinc, it aims to strengthen the scalp’s skin barrier and boost hair density;
- Clarifying Shampoo: Gentle enough for daily use, it cleanses hair from root to tip without stripping the scalp;
- Strengthening Conditioner: Created to deliver silicones to the hair, it also helps protect from premature breaking and detangles;
- Hydrating Shampoo: Best for dry hair, it is designed to help maintain the scalp and hair’s moisture balance;
- Hydrating Conditioner: Ideal for dry hair, it works to hydrate and restore moisture and elasticity from root to tip by treating hair that may be damaged from heat and styling;
- Root Lift Spray: Made with a blend of ingredients that plump and strengthen the root of hair, it also helps provide visible fullness and volume; and
- Clarifying Foaming Scalp Scrub: A pre-cleansing scalp detox that helps rebalance and unclog pores.
