Ethique is advancing its steps towards sustainability with a brand-new launch.

The brand is introducing its first line of zero-waste lip balms, which feature home-compostable packaging that is free of plastic. Once users are done with the lip balms, they can place their container into any planter, the company said.

Crafted with fairly traded sustainable ingredients from Rwanda, Ghana and Samoa, Ethique’s lip balms feature such ingredients as moringa oil, jojoba oil and castor oil to help keep lips smooth and hydrated.

Available varieties include:

  • Juicy, which is a sweet and citrusy lip balm that has been scented with pink grapefruit and vanilla;
  • Pepped Up, which is a cooling peppermint option that has been formulated with cocoa butter and jojoba oil;
  • So Cocoa, which contains organic, fair trade cocoa butter and features a Belgian chocolate scent;
  • Sugarplum, which is a tinted lip balm that contains a hint of peppermint; and
  • Unscented, which simply hydrates and nourishes lips.

Currently, Ethique’s compostable lip balms retail for $8.50 each and can be found online at Ethique.com and Amazon.com in the coming months.
