Advent International will be acquiring Zentiva, Sanofi's European generics arm, for €1.9 billion, as part of Sanofi’s efforts to simplify its operations, the companies said.
The Pittsburgh-based company said it would use its regulatory platform to submit Fujifilm Kyowa Kirin Biologics' Humira biosimilar for approval and commercialization in Europe.
The drug is an antibacterial indicated to treat complicated skin and skin structure infections in adults, as well as staph infections in the bloodstream in adults.
The centerpiece of the effort is the CVS Pharmacy Rx Savings Finder, which CVS Health said would enable the company’s 30,000 pharmacists to check for prescription savings opportunities right at the counter.
