  • Endo begins shipping generic CellCept

    DUBLIN — Endo announced Tuesday that Par Pharmaceutical had begun shipping its generic CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil hydrochloride) for injection. 
     
    The drug had about $42 million in U.S. sales for the 12 months ended Oct. 31, 2016, according to Quintiles IMS data. Par’s generic is packaged in cartons of four 500-mg single-dose vials. 
     
  • FDA approves Lupin’s generic Topicort ointment

    MUMBAI and BALTIMORE — The Food and Drug Administration has approved Lupin’s generic of Topicort (desoximetasone 0.25%) ointment, the company announced Tuesday. The drug is indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
     
    The drug had U.S. sales of $14.4 million for the 12 months ended September 2016. 
     
  • Dr. Reddy’s launches nystatin/triamcinolone acetonide cream

    HYDERABAD, India and PRINCETON, N.J. — Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories on Monday announced the U.S. launch of its nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream (USP 1000,0000 units/g — 0.1%), a generic equivalent of the same cream made by Taro Pharmaceuticals USA. 
     
    The drug had $119 million in sales for the 12 months ended October 2016, according to QuintilesIMS data. The cream is available in tube sizes of 15, 30 and 60 grams.

    DAYTON, N.J. — In recognition of World Aids Day on Dec. 1, Aurobindo Pharma shared its continued commitment to doing its part to help fight HIV/AIDS. The company said the day spotlights advocacy platforms, advances in treatment and the overall importance in working to end the disease. 
     
  • Camber Pharmaceuticals and Hetero Drugs support World AIDS Day

    PISCATAWAY, N.J. –  As one of the world's largest manufacturers of anti-retroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV/AIDS, Camber Pharmaceuticals and its parent company Hetero Drugs on Thursday expressed its support for World AIDS Day.

    "On this day let us come together to express our solidarity for the victims and also to learn about this pandemic," the companies stated.

  • FDA approves Teligent’s generic Clobex lotion

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved Teligent’s generic of Clobex (clobetasol propionate, 0.05%) lotion, the company announced Wednesday. The approval is the company’s sixth in its internally developed pipeline of generics. 
     
  • Fruth Pharmacy adds pharmacogenetic offering to its list of services

    POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. -- Fruth Pharmacy on Wednesday announced its pharmacies will now offer Rxight, a broad, comprehensive pharmacogenetic program. The program, developed by MD Labs, will help determine if the medications people take and the dosage levels are right for them based on their DNA. Rxight covers more than 200 prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

  • Ajanta launches its Abilify generic

    BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Ajanta Pharma USA recently launched its generic of Abilify (aripiprazole) in the U.S. market. The generic was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in September. 
     
    Ajanta’s generic will be available in 2.5-, 5-. 10-, 15-, 20- and 30-mg dosage strengths.
