Halo Top sweetens up desserts with light baking mixes

The brand’s new light mixes contain flavors of classic baked goods but with fewer calories, the company said.

Halo Top is expanding beyond the world of frozen sweets with its new line of desserts.

Featuring light cake and baking mixes, the products have the flavors of classic baked goods but with fewer calories, the company said.

The new additions include:

  • Light Cake Mix Single-Serve Cups: Available in chocolate, strawberry and birthday cake varieties, each cup contains 170 per serving;
  • Light Brownie Mix: Available in fudge brownie, it contains 90 calories per serving; and
  • Light Cookie Mix: Available in peanut butter chocolate chip, each cookie only has 80 calories per serving.

“Halo Top was founded on an idea to make a lower calorie ice cream that doesn’t sacrifice flavor and indulgence. We’ve been constantly innovating products to give consumers indulgence they can feel good about,” said Halo Top brand manager, Peter Gargula. “We can’t wait to bring our loyal fans into the baking aisle in this trusted extension from cold to warm with Halo Top Desserts.”

Halo Top Desserts are currently available at Walmart and Kroger for a suggested retail price of $2.89 for the light cake mix and $4.99 for the cookie and brownie mixes. The line will expand its distribution throughout the summer.
