  • 'Modern Family's' Eric Stonestreet, Pepto-Bismol promote turkey drive on Facebook

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble, through its Pepto-Bismol brand, is teaming up with Feeding America and "Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet to launch its “Feast for All” campaign, the company announced Tuesday.

    Through Dec. 1, consumers who visit Pepto’s Facebook will see Stonestreet displaying a photo of his prized Thanksgiving turkey. With every consumer who “likes” the photo of the turkey, P&G will help donate eight meals to Feeding America.

  • Safeway flu survey: Only half of Americans will get flu shot this year

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe flu shots prevent the flu, but only half plan to get the shot this year, according to the "Safeway Seasonal Wellness Survey," conducted by Kelton Research.

    This is especially surprising, given that 89% said getting a flu shot is “as important” (50%) or “more important” (39%) than it was five years ago.

  • Lilly, Amylin terminate diabetes alliance

    SAN DIEGO — Eli Lilly and Amylin Pharmaceuticals are ending their diabetes-drug alliance, the two companies said Tuesday.

    Indianapolis-based Lilly and San Diego-based Amylin said they would terminate their alliance concerning exenatide, the active ingredient in the injected diabetes drug Byetta and its long-acting version, Bydureon, currently under investigation.
