The four new formulations combine the mucus-busting power of Mucinex with maximum-strength medicines for multisymptom relief. • Nature Made Krill Oil

Pharmavite’s newest product, Nature Made Krill Oil, offers a new source of omega-3 fatty acids in addition to a naturally occurring antioxidant called astaxanthin. The algae that krill eat produce the bright-red pigment astaxanthin that gives krill and other crustaceans, such as lobster and shrimp, their reddish-pink color. The Krill Oil comes in a small, easy-to-swallow soft-gel capsule and offers an alternative source of omega-3 fatty acids without a fishy burp or aftertaste. Each soft gel delivers 90 mg of omega-3 and 75 mg of phospholipids. Suggested retail price is $24.99.

The male enhancement brand launch will be supported with a $32 million television campaign with placements including CNN, A&E, ESPN and Syfy.

  • Pur-Absorb

Nelsons USA marks the second branded player that should be making a significant commitment against iron supplementation in the coming year — the other being Meda Pharmaceuticals. Nelson, however, is approaching the market with a “less is more” mantra. In women with low iron levels, Pur-Absorb has a clinically proven high absorption rate of more than 40%.

  • Intimina by LELO

LELO has launched a high-end line of Kegel exercisers called Laselle under the Intimina by LELO brand for women with incontinence issues. Such factors as pregnancy, childbirth, aging and obesity can result in the weakening of the pelvic muscles, leading to possible urinary or bowel incontinence. A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials by the Cochrane Collaboration concluded that pelvic exercises should be included in first-line conservative management programs for women with urinary incontinence.

  • RCA Symphonix

Audiovox Accessories introduced a one-size-fits-most personal sound amplifier to drug store retailers attending NACDS Marketplace called the RCA Symphonix. At a $299.99 price point, the product may be a little steep to carry in store but may be ideal for online placement for shipment home or to the pharmacy for pickup. That price point may actually be a bargain for many consumers who need hearing aids — customized hearing aids can run in excess of $1,000 per ear and are not typically covered by health plans, including Medicare.
