  • BI, Latino Commission on AIDS launch website

    RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Drug maker Boehringer Ingelheim and the Latino Commission on AIDS have launched a website targeted at Latinos living with HIV, the two announced Thursday.

     

    The website, MenteCuerpoHAART.com, is a Spanish-language version of an already existing English-language version, MindBodyHAART.com. The site is designed to help patients, their families and doctors understand issues affecting health care and treatment of HIV and find resources on prescribed medications and clinical trials, and communicate with medical providers.

  • Identigene introduces STD test kit

    SALT LAKE CITY Identigene on Thursday officially unveiled its Identigene STD test kit, which currently is available over the counter at Rite Aid.

    Purchasers of the Identigene STD test kit can receive a highly accurate test result for chlamydia and gonorrhea, two of the more popular sexually transmitted diseases, within two to three business days of receipt of a urine specimen by the Identigene laboratory.

  • The Natural Dentist introduces sore throat products

    MADISON, N.J. The Natural Dentist on Monday launched two throat spray products — one formulated for kids and one for adults — that will be available at a suggested retail price of $9.99.

     

    “When we started our product research, we were disheartened at some of the ingredients traditional throat sprays contain, including up to 50% alcohol despite lingering controversies regarding the use of alcohol in oral care products,” stated Kelly Kaplan, president and COO of Revive Personal Products, parent company of The Natural Dentist.

  • Enactment of new drug-disposal law a victory for pharmacy, NACDS says

    WASHINGTON Enactment by the White House of a landmark, pharmacy-friendly drug-disposal bill won quick praise from chain pharmacy leaders Thursday.

     

    President Obama signed the Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act into law Wednesday, changing the way the Drug Enforcement Administration regulates the return and destruction of unused and unwanted higher-risk medications. The new law establishes a legal process by which consumers can return their lawfully obtained controlled substance medications to DEA-authorized entities for disposal.
