The Honey Pot, American Provenance wow at ECRM’s personal care virtual session

8/26/2020

The Honey Pot won the Drug Store News Buyers’ Choice Award for its 100% Organic Duo-Pack Tampons at ECRM’s Personal Care Virtual Session held in July. American Provenance was a finalist for its Lavender Natural Deodorant.

The products were selected from dozens of entries submitted by participating suppliers. Buyers were able to evaluate each entry and cast their votes based on product packaging and innovation via the Drug Store News-branded Buyers’ Choice Awards section of the ECRM Connect platform.

“Consumers today are increasingly seeking out personal care products with natural ingredients that are safer for their bodies and for the environment,” said Craig Chmielowicz, senior vice president of health and beauty care at ECRM. “Both of the winners are great examples of brands who have innovated in this space, using natural and organic ingredients that deliver efficacy without negative impacts to the body and the planet. Congratulations to both winners.”

The Honey Pot is a feminine care company that makes healthy washes, natural wipes, organic cotton tampons and herb-infused menstrual pads that are free of parabens, sulfates, dioxins, dyes and artificial fragrance.

Its 100% Organic Duo-Pack Tampons, designed to provide complete coverage for light, regular and heavy days, are chemical free and use a bioplastic applicator that is BPA-free and derived from sugarcane. In addition, they are 100% certified organic cotton, hypoallergenic, and come in 100% recyclable packaging. They also are free of pesticides, chemicals, chlorine, dyes, dioxins or synthetic materials. The duo pack features nine regular and nine super absorbency tampons.

American Provenance makes personal care products by hand using all-natural ingredients. Founded by Kyle LaFond, a former middle school science teacher, the company originated from LaFond's concern over questionable ingredients in brands used by his students, so he challenged them to create their own personal care items without harsh chemicals. After years of experiments and improvements to his own personal care formulas, LaFond launched American Provenance from an updated machine shed on his fourth generation family farm. Today, the company makes all of its own natural products from its southern Wisconsin facility near the original family farm.

American Provenance’s Lavender Natural Deodorant is 100% natural and made with five base ingredients: coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, arrowroot powder and baking soda. Each deodorant is scented using only essential oils and is free of aluminum, harsh chemicals, preservatives and artificial fragrances.
