J.M. Smucker set to acquire Hostess

J.M. Smucker has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Hostess brand of products for a total enterprise value of $5.6 billion, including $900 million of net debt.

J.M. Smucker has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Hostess brand of products for a total enterprise value of $5.6 billion, including $900 million of net debt.

Our organization is well positioned to deliver on the great potential our expanded family of brands offers, as has been reflected by our history of growth through acquisition and the successful integration of new categories to our business. The acquisition includes Hostess’ sweet baked goods—Hostess Donettes, Twinkies, CupCakes, DingDongs, Zingers, CoffeeCakes, HoHos, Mini Muffins and Fruit Pies, as well as the Voortman cookie brand and several manufacturing facilities across Emporia, KansasBurlington, OntarioChicago, IllinoisColumbus, GeorgiaIndianapolis, Indiana and Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

The transaction is anticipated to close in the third quarter of the company’s current fiscal year ending April 30, 2024, and it has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both J.M. Smucker and Hostess.
