    McKesson ideaShare 2017, an interactive forum for independent pharmacists from across the United States, broke attendance records with the number of independent pharmacists and owners on hand to learn about how McKesson, hand in hand with its Health Mart franchise team, can help independents become a preferred destination for patient care. With improvements made to myHealthMart, introducing a new DIR estimator tool and optimizing generics sourcing, those attendees weren’t disappointed.

    At McKesson ideaShare 2017, McKesson RxOwnership launched the inaugural Women in Pharmacy Own It Program. The event featured a morning get-together over coffee; a panel of successful female Health Mart owners that included Teresa Orlando, owner of Dunes Family Pharmacy; Pam Marquess, owner East Marietta Drug Company; and Ellie Darj, owner Chevy Chase Care Pharmacy. Tammy McDonald, VP RxOwnership, and Crystal Lennartz, chief pharmacist Health Mart also participated in the panel and networking session that followed.

    NEW ORLEANS — McKesson ideaShare 2017 kicked off Thursday in the Big Easy, providing independent pharmacists a forum to discover new solutions and technology to grow their businesses and make them competitive. The annual conference and exhibition is set to offer attendees access to industry thought leadership, pharmacy programs, continuing education courses and networking opportunities to help improve their pharmacies’ performance.

    Visiting New Orleans wasn’t the biggest driver of attendance for those registered for McKesson ideaShare 2017 — McKesson knows because it asked. In an effort to better align this year’s program and educational offerings with what its customers’ need, McKesson asked those planning to attend the conference about the biggest draws. Outstripping several days in the Big Easy was the opportunity to learn how to grow their businesses.

    McKesson ideaShare is on pace for record attendance this year with customer attendees representing nearly 1,900 independent pharmacies across the United States.  Connecting customers with industry experts and peers, McKesson ideaShare will feature more than 124 networking sessions, seminars and workshops, and 30 continuing education sessions. The conference is designed to provide attendees with tangible, information and best practices that are easy to take home and implement in their own stores to improve their performance and profitability.

    For more than 30 years, McKesson ideaShare has focused on giving independent pharmacists and owners the knowledge, tools and resources they need to improve their pharmacy’s performance. This year’s conference comes with a warning label:

  • myHealthMart goes mobile

    Many features of the myHealthMart online portal that have been helping Health Mart pharmacists and owners better manage their pharmacy business over the past year have been incorporated into a new mobile app that will be launched at the 2017 McKesson ideaShare meeting. The mobile app will be available for the Apple iOS platform at the conference; an Android app will launch later this fall.
