  • Mission Pharmacal begins promotion of Elestrin

    SAN ANTONIO — Mission Pharmacal on Thursday announced that it has begun the promotion of Elestrin (estradiol gel) 0.06% in the United States through an agreement with Meda AB. The drug is a used as a topical hormone replacement gel to help treat hot flashes caused by menopause.

    The addition of Elestrin both complements and expands Mission Pharmacal's existing line of products for women, which includes such products as prescription prenatal vitamins, a bone health product, anti-infectives, an iron supplement and a urinary analgesic.

  • Jessica Alba's Honest Co. to carry products at Target

    LOS ANGELES — The Honest Co., which was co-founded by actress Jessica Alba, has teamed up with Target to offer a selection of the Honest Co.’s products in all Target stores and an expanded assortment on Target.com starting June 15.

  • Teva introduces dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride capsules

    NORTH WALES, Pa. — Teva Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday announced the introduction and availability of dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release capsules, CII, in 15-mg and 30-mg strengths. This product is AB rated and bioequivalent to Focalin XR extended-release capsules, CII. 

    With the addition of these two new strengths, Teva now offers dexmethylphenidate HCl extended-release capsules, CII in 15-mg, 30-mg and 40-mg.

  • FDA approves Trimel Pharmaceuticals' Natesto testosterone nasal gel

    TORONTO — Trimel Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday announced that the Food and Drug Administration has approved Natesto (testosterone), formerly CompleoTRT, the first and only testosterone nasal gel for replacement therapy in adult males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone. 

    Natesto is self-administered via a nasal applicator, thereby minimizing the risk of secondary exposure to testosterone of women or children.

  • Samsung offers sneak peak at new wristband health tracker

    SAN FRANCISCO – Samsung on Wednesday announced the pending launch of a wristband and software platform it hopes developers will use to create health trackers that “can't even be imagined yet,” Young Sohn, Samsung's chief strategy officer, said, according to published reports.

  • Organix-South unveils new XyliVita oral care line

    BOWLING GREEN, Fla. — Organix-South has created a new line of oral care products called XyliVita, with several offerings being rolled out over the next four months.
     
    The first product in the line to be launched is a toothbrush with a handle that is made from 100% biodegradable recycled materials. The XyliVita toothbrush uses the finest nylon bristles to gently massage gums, with an angled design that helps users get to all those hard-to-reach places, the company stated. In addition, the new toothbrush has been certified as cruelty free.
     

  • Kiss Products expands line with new handle-less hair dryer

    NEW YORK — Nail care company Kiss Products has expanded its portfolio to include an array of beauty products, including the new Red by Kiss Handle-Less 1875W hair dryer.

    Launched in May with a suggested retail price of $29.99, the new hair dryer is optimized for pik hair straightening and drying for African-American users. It is also designed to deliver more comfortable hair styling with a round or paddle brush for general users.
