  • Robinson Pharma preps launch of new probiotic

    SANTA ANA, Calif. — Robinson Pharma last week introduced its Unique IS-2 Probiotic Softgel in collaboration with B&D Nutritional Ingredients and Unique Biotech USA. The new product is a shelf-stable, guaranteed-yield probiotic softgel that delivers the Unique IS-2 Bacillus coagulans strain, a trademarked bacterium which has demonstrated high resistance to extreme temperature and humidity.

  • FDA approves Mylan bronchospasm drug

    PITTSBURGH — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic treatment for bronchospasm made by Mylan, the drug maker said Monday.

    Mylan announced the approval of levalbuterol inhalation solution in the 0.31 mg/3 mL, 0.63 mg/3 mL and 1.25 mg/3 mL strengths. The company has begun shipping the product.

    The drug is a generic version of Sunovion's Xopenex inhalation solution, which is used to treat bronchospasm in patients ages 6 years and older with reversible obstructive airway disease.

  • Green Giant launches new veggie snack chips

    MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills' Green Giant brand is bringing two new product offerings to store shelves, the company announced.

    New Green Giant Veggie snack chips will be available in two flavors: Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips Zesty Cheddar and Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips Sea Salt. The Zesty Cheddar tortilla chips contain 17g of whole grains and the Sweet Potato Chips have 40% less fat than regular potato chips.

  • Cardium Therapeutics introduces new vitamin format: popping pellet candy

    SAN DIEGO — Cardium Therapeutics earlier this week announced its To Go Brands operating unit has expanded its VitaRocks kids' vitamins product line and that retail distribution has been expanded into select Target stores.

    The VitaRocks products are inspired by a popping pellet candy that is popular with kids and represents a next-generation, easy-use delivery platform for multivitamins and nutrients, dietary supplements, and potentially over-the-counter medicines for children as well as adults, Cardium Therapeutics suggested. 

  • B'iota Botanicals enters U.S. market

    GREENWICH, Conn. — B’iota Botanicals, a European brand in herbal hair and skin care solutions, is now available in the United States.

    The core products for the U.S. launch are B’iota shampoos and [leave-in] serum, which have been clinically tested and shown to reduce hair fallout and thinning by promoting stronger, thicker, fuller hair, the company stated. The products are targeted to women and men who have weak, damaged and thinning hair.

  • Folgers offers new instant concentrated coffees

    ORRVILLE, Ohio — Folgers coffee, part of the J.M. Smucker Company, has introduced a new line of concentrated coffees that do not require brewing, the company announced today.

    Folgers Fresh Breaks Roasted Concentrated Coffee is made with ultra-fine ground coffee in a single-serving packet that prepares an 8 oz. cup. The new Fresh Breaks coffees come in three varieties: mild-roasted Breakfast Blend; Mountain Grown, 100% Colombian medium-dark roast; and Black Silk, dark-roast.

  • Hain Celestial expands personal care product portfolio

    MELVILLE, N.Y. — The Hain Celestial Group, a maker of natural and organic products, debuted at Natural Products Expo West a slew of new products, including new personal care items. Natural Products Expo West showcased a record number of new products from the natural, organic and healthy living sector with more than 63,000 participants from around the world.
