  • AccentHealth announces nine new condition-specific TV networks

    NEW YORK — A health education television network has added nine condition-specific networks.

    AccentHealth said in addition to its current lineup of four networks, the company will focus its attention on diabetes, heart health, men's health, mental health, senior women's health, rheumatology, allergies, asthma and gastroesophageal reflux disease. These networks will reach and educate more than 13 million patients in doctors' waiting rooms each month through its digitally delivered content, the company said.

  • Former Walmart executive joins SoloHealth

    ATLANTA — Former Walmart executive Charles Leehan has taken on a new role at a self-service kiosks provider.

    Leehan will serve as director of national accounts for SoloHealth, reporting to Rick Voight, the company's VP channel development. In this capacity, he will oversee and manage relationships across national accounts to ensure SoloHealth’s partners receive the best possible service and individualized attention from the SoloHealth team.

  • HealthPrize, RealAge look at social media, gaming technology to improve adherence

    SAN DIEGO — HealthPrize Technologies and RealAge will launch a study next month that will test HealthPrize’s medication adherence technologies on patients taking asthma medications, the two companies said Wednesday.

    HealthPrize is the creator of an Internet and mobile app that uses behavioral economics and gaming dynamics to improve medication adherence, while RealAge is a health website that uses the RealAge Test to assess a person’s mortality risk based on health-related factors.

  • CRN, AANP launch online supplement resource

    WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition earlier this month announced the launch of a microsite as part of its joint education campaign with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Foundation. The new microsite, available via the CRN website, is a hub for resources and information about nurse practitioners in general, as well as their attitudes about and usage of dietary supplements, the association stated.

    FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — Telecommunications provider Verizon Wireless and pharmacy benefit manager Medco Health Solutions have unveiled a mobile application that the companies said would allow patients and their doctors to instantly find the lowest-cost prescription drugs to meet their health needs and identify potentially harmful drug interactions.

  • Adflow Health Networks announces full-scale deployment of Personal Health Center

    FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. — Adflow Health Networks announced a large-scale deployment of its consumer health platform.

    Adflow Health Networks' Personal Health Center, an interactive digital media platform, provides consumers with access to trusted healthcare content and services, together with the ability to perform a wide range of Food and Drug Administration-cleared screenings, Adflow Health said. The full-scale deployment includes implementation across retail locations, worksites and high traffic areas.

    FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Armada Health Care has launched a new Web-based specialty pharmacy therapy management system designed to allow pharmacies to optimize drug utilization and clinical outcomes while providing enhanced patient care, Armada said Monday.

    The company announced the launch of ReachRx OTM, which includes features such as patient support protocols, side effects management, therapy discontinuation surveys and patient outcomes reporting.
