Proactiv rolls out 3-step routine for sensitive, acne-prone skin
Proactiv is rolling out a new skin care routine specially formulated for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Featuring a dermatologist-developed formula that offers a gentle solution to aid in clearing blemishes and revealing smooth skin, the line is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, cyclic silicones and more than 100 other ingredients, the brand said.
Containing mineral-derived sulfur and salicylic acid to help clear blemishes, the products also contain hyaluronic acid, bakuchiol and chamomile to smooth texture, even skin tone and calm irritated skin.

“After close monitoring of consumer feedback both offline and online, we created a dermatologist-developed routine that is both gentle enough for sensitive skin and effective enough for treating acne. Proactiv Clean 3-Step Routine includes:
- Mineral Acne Cleanser: A daily use mineral cleanser that helps wash away dirt, oil and dead skin. Made with mineral-derived sulfur to help reduce oil and penetrate pores to control breakouts, it also is formulated with chamomile to soothe sensitive skin;
- Azelaic Pore Perfector: A lightweight serum-like lotion with azelaic acid that aims to improve the look of uneven skin tone and soothe irritation. Containing squalene, bisabolol and allantonin, it also works to soften, smooth and hydrate the skin. Also featuring hyaluronic acid and glycerin, it also helps nourish and soothe skin; and
- Acne Clearing Hydrator: A daily-use moisturizer that works to clear blemishes while helping repair the skin’s moisture barrier. Formulated with salicylic acid to aid in encouraging the shedding of dead skin cells, it can be worn alone or under makeup.
