  • NACDS urges collaboration between regulators, law enforcement in letter to Senate

    ARLINGTON, Va. - In a letter sent to members of the U.S. Senate on Monday, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores urged passage of legislation that would spur collaboration among health and enforcement authorities for drug abuse solutions that maintain patients’ legitimate access to medications.

  • Ahold Delhaize petitions to add 'Royal' to its moniker post merger

    ZAANDAM, the Netherlands – Ahold on Monday announced that the King of the Netherlands has honored its request to use the predicate “Koninklijke” (“Royal”) after its intended merger with Delhaize Group.
     
    Upon completion of the proposed merger, the statutory name of the combined company will be “Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize N.V.”
     
  • Target looks to Amazon for new logistics chief

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target is hiring Arthur Valdez, a 16-year veteran of Amazon.com, as EVP, chief supply chain and logistics officer.
     
    Valdez will lead Target’s supply chain transformation including planning, distribution and transportation. He will report to Target’s executive VP and COO John Mulligan.
     
  • Hy-Vee selects Nielsen as preferred analytics provider

    NEW YORK - Nielsen and Hy-Vee announced Thursday that Nielsen will be the supermarket chain's preferred measurement provider for retail and consumer information. 
     
    "We are thrilled that Hy-Vee has chosen Nielsen to supply them with the most comprehensive consumer data available," stated Rob Hill, EVP, retail services. Nielsen. "Hy-Vee's continued commitment to learning about today's consumer and their purchasing behavior is clearly demonstrated with this Nielsen alliance."
